7 Safe Travel Foods

 

Here’s a list of foods I always recommend traveling with when visiting a place with native cuisine. Because let’s face it, not everyone destination will have a Mc Donald’s, or KFC. Warning, not everything on this list will be healthy, organic, and GMO-free, but it will guarantee you make it back home safe and when your supposed to.

 

 

Having to go to the hospital in another country is as serious and scary as it sounds believe me. I had a food poisoning stint in Jamaica once, changed my life, and not I add a special place for travel food. 

 

First, let’s start off with this isn’t an excuse to bring chips, cookies, twinkies and other crap with absolutely no nutritional value. Think holistic, healthy, packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Dry for clean travel, and safe, to be in your carry-on. 

 

 

1) Nuts:

 

I recommend whatever nuts you prefer. Preferably organic, but if not you’ll be fine sustaining of off whatever nuts you can get. A nut is a fruit composed of a hard shell and a seed

Cashews  (2nd Highest Protein) 

Peanuts (Highest Protein) 

Pistachios

Walnut

Almond

Pecan

Brazil Nuts

Pine Nuts 

 

 

 

 

2) Dried Fruits:

berries

bananas

apricot

pineapple (These are ususally waaay too sweet)

apples

raisins

prunes

dates

 

 

3) Dried Meat or Dehydrated Meat:  

(If you must, really not healthy, too much salt, and loves sticking around in teeth)

Beef Jerky

Turkey Jerky

Bison Meat

Korean BBQ

4) Fruit that doesn’t require immediate refrigeration

(And can take some heat/humidity)

Apples

Clementines

Bananas (Maybe)

Avocado’s

Peach

Pear

5) Instant Noodles  (None of these options are healthy)

Ramen Noodles

Cup O’ Noodles

Maruchan Instant Lunch
